Within a maximum ceiling of 6.000 USD/grant, eligible initiatives can include information, communication and awareness-raising campaigns, events that promote active participation and debate in the development cooperation field, project proposals that are centered around the themes of the Millennium Development Goals and post-2015 agenda, and public events around various international days. These stories demonstrate how sound policies, capacities and financing lead to lasting change. 09 December 2013 Social economy fair at the UN House in Bucharest More than 15 representative from nine social inclusion organizations attended on Thursday, December 5th, the social economy fair organized by UNDP Romania on the occasion of Saint Nicholas Day. UN employees, partners and collaborators enjoyed the displayed products which were produced by the beneficiaries of the nine NGOs. Roma ethnics, people with disabilities, young people who leave the child protection system, minimum wage beneficiaries, pensioners or unemployed people are among the beneficiaries. Fresh rye bread, gingerbread, marzipan cake, bandanas, jewelry, leather products, eco bags, candles, baby clothes, cards and Christmas decorations, were on display at the fair and which found buyers very quickly. I bought many products at the fair, especially holidays gifts for friends and family. The products are high quality and useful, and by buying them I also helped the organizations that work with vulnerable groups. The fair was an opportunity for these organizations to promote their social economy activity and present the programs they run, said after the event, Alina Bocai from UNDP Romania. The nine organizations that attended the social economy fair are Asociația Carusel, Asociația pentru Promovarea Economiei Sociale, Asociația Tonal, Asociația Viitor Plus, Federația CARP-Omenia, Fundația HANDROM, Organizația Umanitară Concordia, Mesteshukar ButiQ and representatives of the „Educație pentru toți. Cu tine” project.
