Feature more than 2,500 rhododendrons, azaleas, and other plants in a setting of small lakes, paved and unpaved paths, fountains, and small waterfalls. Oaks Amusement Park A small amusement park. Known as the "Coney Island of the Northwest" after its opening in May 1905, it is one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the country. The 44-acre park includes midway games; a historic wooden carousel constructed in 1913. Lan Su Chinese Garden A walled Chinese garden enclosing a full city block, roughly 40,000 square feet in the Chinatown area. Formerly know as the Portland Classical Chinese Garden and titled the Garden of Awakening Orchids. The garden's grand opening was on September 14, 2000.
