Thomas Edward Bosley (October 1, 1927 – October 19, 2010) was an American actor, voice artist, television personality and entertainer. Bosley is best known for portraying Howard Cunningham on the long-running ABC sitcom Happy Days, and the titular character on the NBC/ABC series Father Dowling Mysteries. He also was featured in a recurring role on Murder, She Wrote. He originated the title role of the Pulitzer Prize–winning Broadway musical Fiorello!, earning the 1960 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical.
Bosley was born in Chicago, the son of Dora (née Heyman) and Benjamin Bosley. Although well known for playing a Catholic priest and Protestant patriarchs, Bosley was actually Jewish.
During World War II, Bosley served in the United States Navy. While attending DePaul University, a Catholic university in Chicago, in 1947, he made his stage debut in Our Town with the Canterbury Players at the Fine Arts Theatre. Bosley performed at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock, Illinois, in 1949 and 1950 alongside Paul Newman.

Bosley is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 406. The village is on the A523 road near to where it intersects the A54, about six miles south of Macclesfield. It is the site of Bosley Reservoir. The Macclesfield Canal runs through the parish. All its locks are in this section, including the noted Bosley Lock Flight.
The village is immediately to the north of the Staffordshire border, close to the Peak District National Park.
Arthur Herbert Procter, Victoria Cross recipient, was parish vicar of Bosley from 1931 to 1933.
Happy Days is an American television sitcom that aired first-run from January 15, 1974, to September 24, 1984, on ABC. The show was originally based on a segment from ABC's Love, American Style titled Love and the Television Set, (later retitled Love and the Happy Days for syndication) featuring Ron Howard and three future cast members.
Created by Garry Marshall, the series presents an idealized vision of life in the mid-1950s to mid-1960s United States.
The series was produced by Miller-Milkis Productions (Miller-Milkis-Boyett Productions in later years) and Henderson Productions in association with Paramount Television. Happy Days was one of the highest-rated shows of the 1970s.
