FORD AUSTRALIA

Ford Australia, a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company (US), began building the famous Model-T in Geelong in 1925. It later built a range of cars here, before establishing its well-known Broadmeadows manufacturing facility to produce the Falcon in 1960.

Under its "One Ford" global product strategy, Ford is to shut-down its Australian manufacturing operation in 2017, bringing the curtain down on both the Falcon and Territory. Ford Australia's design and engineering facility remains as a key part of Ford's global product development.

The Ford range is typified by dynamic, refined cars, well-suited to Australian conditions. These include the Mondeo, Focus, Fiesta, and Falcon; its SUVs, the highly-awarded Territory, Kuga, and Ecosport, and heavy-duty 4X4s, the Everest and Ranger, as well as the Ford Transit van range.
