Petrol station cashier threatened with 'blood-filled' syringe during hold-up

Police are hunting a man who threatened a petrol station cashier with a blood-filled syringe in Kalgoorlie. 

The man entered the Wilson Street premise around 8am on Saturday morning and stole cash before fleeing the store. 

"Around 8am, a man armed with a syringe believed to contain blood, entered the service station and threatened a staff member, demanding cash," a police spokeswoman said. 

"The man stole a quantity of cash before running from the store.

"He was last seen running towards Rhodes Street."

The man is described as being in his 30s, fair skinned, approximately 183 centimetres tall, with a medium build, light brown hair and unshaven.

He was wearing a blue long sleeve top, light coloured pants with a rip at the knees and black safety glasses.
