An adorable baby dressed up as a lion, came face-to-face with the real deal at Zoo Atlanta on Friday - and their interaction is priceless.

When 11-month-old Aryeh - which means "lion" in Hebrew - visited the big cat enclosure with his godparents, they dressed him in his fluffy costume, ready for a cute snap.

Footage of the visit shows Aryeh peering into the glass and capturing the attention of a large male lion, who wanders over for a closer look.

"The lions were immediately interested in our little lion cub," Aryeh's godparents captioned their  YouTube clip.

Aryeh's hands pressed to the glass, the lion reaches out towards the tot who stands and looks directly at him.

"What is that Aryeh? It's a big you," we hear one of his godparents say.

According to the caption, Aryeh was "completely unfazed", by the encounter, interacting with the lions for a few minutes before leaving the exhibit.

"We took some pictures and videos before moving along as the lions started getting a little worked up and we didn't want to make them too anxious," his godparents wrote, adding that the experience was "incredible".

"Definitely a great memory from our first little godfamily outing!"
