Jerry Lee Lewis (born September 29, 1935) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and pianist, who is often known by his nickname of The Killer and is often viewed as "rock & roll's first great wild man."
As an early pioneer of rock and roll music, in 1956 Lewis made his first recordings at Sun Records in Memphis. "Crazy Arms" sold 300,000 copies in the South, but it was his 1957 hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" that shot Lewis to fame worldwide. Lewis followed this when he recorded songs such as "Great Balls of Fire", "Breathless" and "High School Confidential". However, Lewis's rock and roll career faltered in the wake of his marriage to his 13-year-old cousin when he was 22 years old.
He had little success in the charts following the scandal and his popularity quickly faded. His live performance fees plummeted from $10,000 per night to $250. In the meantime he was determined to gain back some of his popularity. During the early 1960s, he did not have much chart success with few exceptions such as "What'd I Say". His live performances at this time were increasingly wild and energetic. His album Live at the Star Club, Hamburg from 1964 is often regarded by many music journalists and fans as one of the wildest and greatest rock and roll concert albums ever. After recording songs such as "I'm on Fire" for several years with little success, in 1968 Lewis made a transition into country music and had hits with songs such as "Another Place, Another Time". This reignited his career and throughout the late 1960s and 1970s he regularly topped the country-western charts. His No. 1 country hits included "To Make Love Sweeter For You", "There Must Be More to Love Than This", "Would You Take Another Chance on Me" and "Me and Bobby McGee".
Jerry Lee (born April 20, 1936 in Sharon, Pennsylvania) is President of the Jerry Lee Foundation. A philanthropist of crime prevention, education and evidence-based policy-making, he was the original donor of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology, the Jerry Lee Center of Criminology at the University of Pennsylvania, the Jerry Lee Centre of Experimental Criminology at the University of Cambridge, and the Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy in Washington. He is the President of Philadelphia Radio Station B-101 FM, the last independent radio station in a major media market.
Appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the United States Department of Education's National Board of Education Sciences from 2004 to 2008, he helped to supervise over $1 billion in research funding decisions by the National Institute of Education Sciences. In 2000 was a founding Trustee of the Campbell Collaboration, a non-profit global network of program evaluators in crime, education and social services now supported by the government of Norway. In 2008 he was Knighted by His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, and in 2010 the American Society of Criminology created an annual award named in his honour, the Jerry Lee Award for Lifetime Achievement in Experimental Criminology.

Lewis (Scottish Gaelic: Leòdhas, pronounced [ʎɔː.əs̪], also Isle of Lewis) is the northern part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island of the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides (an archipelago) of Scotland. The total area of Lewis is 683 square miles (1,770 km2).
Lewis is, in general, the lower lying part of the island, with the other part, Harris, being more mountainous. The flatter, more fertile land means Lewis contains the largest settlement, Stornoway, and three-quarters of the population of the Western Isles. Beyond human habitation, the island's diverse habitats are home to an assortment of flora and fauna, such as the golden eagle, red deer and seals and are recognised in a number of conservation areas.
Lewis is of Presbyterian tradition with a rich history, having once been part of the Norse Kingdom of Mann and the Isles. Today, life is very different from elsewhere in Scotland with Sabbath observance, the Gaelic language and peat cutting retaining more importance than elsewhere. Lewis has a rich cultural heritage as can be seen from its myths and legends as well as the local literary and musical traditions.

Jerry Lee Lewis - arrogant, opinionated & unquestionably the Real Deal. His music - uncompromising, self-assured & rooted deep in the sounds & culture of the Southern States of the USA. His personal life - full of both success & excess, in equal measure. All set alight by some of that Old Time Religion. This is a fine documentary about the last of the Giants of Rock & Roll. A one-off. The Killer. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. No question.

Am I to be the one that your heart picks
Or do you keep me near you just for kicks
Well, I don't think it's fair in any way
I got to have an answer right away
Am I to be the one
Am I to be the one that wins your heart?
I'm feeling like a leaf hanging on a vine
And it's about to make me lose my mind
Now, if I am the one baby, you would choose
Then let me run around and spread the news
Am I to be the one
Am I to be the one that wins your heart?
You got me so upset, it's a hard to sleep
I'm sitting down at dinner but I still can't eat
Can hardly knot my tie or lace my shoes
Now, if I'm in a race, will I win or lose
Am I to be the one
Am I to be the one that wins your heart?
I'm pleading and I'm begging like a natural man
If you can't help me baby, no one can
I know how much I care and you do to
But I can't say a word till I hear from you
Am I to be the one
Am I to be the one that wins your heart?
Am I to be the one
