Emergency crews pulled a man, 28, from the wreckage of a two-car crash in Fraser on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened near the intersection of Tillyard Drive and Daley Crescent just after 1.30pm.
An Emergency Services Agency spokesman said it took crews nearly 10 minutes to remove the man, who was the driver in one of the cars, from the vehicle following the crash.
Two ambulance crews attended the scene, with paramedics also treating a woman, 27, who was a passenger in the same car as the man.
Both were taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition, with the man being treated for lower-back pain, while the woman was taken to hospital for observation.
