3D Printing with PVC

Introducing 3D Vinyl™
An Australian innovation

HOW 3D VINYL™ WILL HELP EVOLVE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Until now, the industrial value of 3D printing has been constrained by the available selection of robust, cost-effective materials, limiting all but a select group of high-end platforms to two common choices: PLA or ABS filament. While these materials perform well in prototyping environments, neither are viable options for products that require UV/ weather, solvent and combustion resistance, thus limiting the potential growth of 3D printing across all sectors, from cottage industry makers/ hobbyists to low-run production within Advanced Manufacturing.

Now, after extensive research and testing, an Australian invention, developed by Chemson Pacific, is ready to fill that space.

3D VINYL™ is the world’s first “thermoplastic PVC” formulation, designed specifically for the Advanced Manufacturing sector, and associated 3D printing technologies.

Without any special modifications or costly upgrades to existing platforms, 3D VINYL™ is successfully printing industrial calibre, production-grade parts on a rapidly expanding list of 3D printing systems, from standard desktop to professional.

3D VINYL™ will provide an alternative that is rigid, resilient, sustainable, fire retardant, and weather resistant.

3D VINYL™’s entry into the burgeoning Additive Manufacturing sector is already providing new opportunities.

A strategic alliance with PVC industry leader Welvic and tertiary bodies will bring 3D VINYL™ to market for Australia/NZ/ASEAN. A partnership with Functionalize, the U.S.- based leader in highly conductive 3D printing thermoplastic, will co-develop conductive, electrostatic dissipative and other specialised formulations of 3D VINYL™, and expand its market reach in North America, Europe, and beyond.
