The Brooklyn Rail is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We distribute our journal free of charge, and operate with the help of an outstanding volunteer editorial team. We rely on the philanthropy of foundations and individual donors to meet our production, operation, and program expenses.
Chuck Close has called our journal "this generation's organ of choice in which artists, art historians, and artists themselves weigh in on the most significant work being shown."
