IKEA launches products inspired by relationship problems

October 17, 2017

Popular Swedish furniture store IKEA, is famous for its complicated product names and often leaves non-Swedish shoppers stumbling over foreign phrases.

For example, the product name for one of their mirrors is “ikornnes”.

Now, though, they’ve come up with a clever solution to the tongue-twisting monikers with their new “Retail Therapy” campaign.

The campaign involves the company replacing some of its Swedish product names with names based on commonly Googled relationship problems.

However, the humour doesn’t stop there, as the relationship problem in question has been cleverly matched with a product that “solves” the issue at hand: there is, for example, a moving box called “How to make long distance work”, and a set of champagne flutes called “When children leave home”.

Under each product IKEA displays a list of other related relationship problems they think you might be struggling with.
