Presidential spokesman Ernie Abella told that there were at least 10 deaths and 60 injuries. However, there were reports from 911 insiders that 16 people died in the blast.

At least 12 people were killed and 24 others were injured when an explosion ripped through a night market in Davao City Friday night, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
"I confirm that there are 12 dead and 24 wounded and we are checking on hospital and clinics where the the wounded and the injured might have been taken," said PNP Region 11 Director Manuel Gaerlan in an interview on ANC.
He added even before the incident, the PNP was receiving reports about possible attacks in the area.
"We were able to prevent it during the Kadayawan [Festival], but unfortunately there was an explosion this evening," said Gaerlan. -- ANC, Sept. 3, 2016

The Philippines (
i/ˈfɪlᵻpiːnz/; Filipino: Pilipinas [ˌpɪlɪˈpinɐs]), officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas), is a sovereign island country in Southeast Asia situated in the western Pacific Ocean. It consists of about 7,500 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila and the most populous city is Quezon City; both are part of Metro Manila.
To the north of the Philippines across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan; Vietnam sits west across the South China Sea; southwest lies Malaysia in the island of Borneo across the Sulu Sea, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia; while to the east it is bounded by the Philippine Sea and the island-nation of Palau. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. At approximately 300,000 square kilometers (115,831 sq mi), the Philippines is the 72nd-largest country in the world.

At least 12 people were killed and 24 others were injured when an explosion ripped through a night market in Davao City Friday night, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
"I confirm that there are 12 dead and 24 wounded and we are checking on hospital and clinics where the the wounded and the injured might have been taken," said PNP Region 11 Director Manuel Gaerlan in an interview on ANC.
He added even before the incident, the PNP was receiving reports about possible attacks in the area.
"We were able to prevent it during the Kadayawan [Festival], but unfortunately there was an explosion this evening," said Gaerlan. -- ANC, Sept. 3, 2016

Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

Hi Philippine Travelers! We're here at People's Park, Davao City's favorite free attraction located at the heart of the city.
This used to be called PTA grounds where a lot of sports meets were held. But City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte decided to convert this into a beautiful manicured garden for everyone to visit during weekends and weekdays as well.
People's Park is already 7 years old. It was opened in 2008 and then it was as beautiful as this although the trees have grown a lot over the years. It's more shady now.
This is actually a favorite spot for Dabawenyos, not just us Dabawenyos but also tourists and other visitors from different parts of the country.
Selling of food is not allowed inside the park but a lot of us bring food in and have a picnic inside the park. There are a lot of food concessions outside: there are food trucks parked outside as well as tiny stores called sari-sari where we can buy small snacks to consume inside the park.
There is no entrance fee for the park. It's free, it's very clean as you can see and there are a lot of attractions. There is a jogging path that used to be the oval so it's an Olympic-sized jogging track, if there is a thing like that.
There are a lot of trees, there entire place is shady. It's a perfect place for picnics and for hanging out, people-watching and just killing time. If you have time to spare or time to kill and you're in downtown Davao City, People's Park is a good place to hang out in because there is a much-needed shade. And you won't need to spend a lot of money.
If I were to rate this spot, I would give it 4. It is very clean and well-maintained even if it's free. And it's a lot of fun to be here. The only downside is that since it's for free, there are a lot of street kids loitering around. And I don't think it's safe for everybody to be loitering around especially the little ones.

Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

Shopping, food, taxi's, etc are much cheaper compared to Manila, great place to visit. Also a "no smoking" city. You can only smoke in designated areas, and no littering, or you will be fined. Puerto Princesa, Palawan is a popular tourist city with many beach resorts and seafood restaurants. Very nice islands and beaches. Also very clean and no smoking city. Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.
