Christmas has come early for two WA families who were living 'pay-to-pay' before hitting the lotto jackpot.
A young Armadale family scooped the entire division one $10 million pool in Tuesday's OZ Lotto draw, while a single mother from Mandurah won Set For Life on Friday.
The Armadale family, who have several children, discovered they were the lucky winners on Wednesday night after purchasing the ticket at Haynes Good News Agency in Brookdale.
"We were absolutely stunned, in utter shock!" they said.
"We'd heard the ticket had been sold at the same store we get our weekly Lotto from but never in a million years did we think it was our ticket!
"There were lots of tears and we haven't slept since learning of the news last night.
"We were preparing for a basic Christmas because we couldn't afford anything extravagant, but that's all about to change now."
The parents have already begun thinking of ways to spend their new found fortune, with a new house seemingly the first thing on the wish list.
"This amount is incredible. We can do anything," they said.
"We've been looking at houses all night and are blown away by what we can afford. It will have all the bells and whistles – two storeys, a pool and even a new family dog.
"This money guarantees our children a good start in life and they'll have everything they need including a great education."
Meanwhile, on Friday, a single mum from Mandurah won Set for Life - a prize of $20,000 each month for the next 20 years.
"We've been struggling financially, living paycheck to paycheck. We were close to getting our water cut off," the winning mother said.
"I was holding a cup of coffee when I saw I'd won and I started shaking so much my daughter needed to take my mug from me."
"It was only last week my dad dreamt something amazing was going to happen to me and he was absolutely right!"
The $10 million prize is the second largest to be won in WA this year.
It follows a $40 million win in March and continues the good fortune of WA players in 2016 with a total of 83 Division 1 Lotto and 1st Prize winners in the state this year.
Lotto players will have another chance to win big in tonight's $15 million Powerball jackpot.
Then on New Year's Eve, the $31 million Saturday Lotto Megadraw will be offered.
