Commuters on the Bruce Highway are still facing a slow trip but it is better news on the M1.
About 8.15am, Australian Traffic Network traffic reporter Olympia Kwitowski said congestion had eased between the Loganholme and Pimpama on the M1 after an earlier crash.
But she said the Bruce Highway was still heavy southbound from Anzac Avenue to the Gateway Motorway exit.
The Gateway was still "really heavy" through Nudgee.

Two "major dramas" are causing commuter headaches with traffic backed up for 15 kilometres or more on Queensland's busiest road.
Workers using the Bruce Highway to get to Brisbane from the north or the M1 to head in from the south were all experiencing major delays on Wednesday morning.
Police warned drivers to stay patient as congestion plagued the M1 northbound from the Logan River Bridge back to Pimpama after a two-vehicle crash about 5.30am.
One driver suffered minor injuries.

Australian Traffic Network Queensland operations manager Jay Lane said "massive" delays stretched for roughly 15 or 16 kilometres, almost back to Upper Coomera.
On the Bruce, he said a cement truck had collided with two utes at Griffin, near North Lakes, about 5.40am, turning the normally pleasant school holiday commute into a classic peak-hour headache.
"Now normally we see extensive delays building down through there but of course being school holidays, we haven't seen too much activity," he said.
"But at the moment it's looking like a normal peak hour run."
Those delays were back to Deception Bay about 6.20am, he said.
