There has been many different versions of this classic nasheed made popular by Lebanese singer
Maher Zain (ماهر زين), and went with many different titles as well. The popular Assalamu Alayka (السلام عليك ) and has been sung in many languages such as
English,
Turkish and
Albanian. Other titles such as Nasheed Ya
Rasulullah (يارسول
الله) and Mawlaya (مولاي) also contain similar lyrics and wordings sending blessings and salutations to Prophet Muhammad
S.A.W
Peace Be Upon Him (
PBUH). These nasheeds centered around the longing of Moslem's heart desiring to visit and be in
Medina (المدينة المنورة) , called
Muhammad's
City. This is where
Masjid an-Nabawi المسجد النبوي (the
Prophet's mosque) is. The heart of Muslims are longing to be near the tomb of the prophet, to have the feeling to being close to him, and the chance to see him in Jannah. Malaysian girl who currently resides in
Sydney, Australia. She led her group of an all-female Islamic
Choir which is now very popular there. The have appeared in many concerts there especially the annual
Mega Mawlid.
