Thanks for your question. There are a few ways to create a focal point when a fireplace is absent. Arranging the furniture so that there is a distinctive seating area is one, hanging a bold piece of artwork on a wall is another. You can also choose an area rug that makes a statement and use that, in conjunction with the furniture arrangement, to create a focal point at your feet.
