A Butler dad, savagely bashed and left for dead only metres from his home, has said he has no memory of the attack.
Shane Lyons was found covered in blood and unconscious by a passerby on Friday night after he walked home from his mate's house towards his Benenden Avenue home.
The 30-year-old suffered a broken jaw, a shattered eye socket, swelling and bleeding on the brain.
He later had surgery to insert metal plates into his face.
According to 9 News Perth, Mr Lyons' last recollection was walking along the street on Friday night before waking up in hospital.
Mr Lyons fiancée, Danni Shoobert, was devastated by the attack and angry somebody could leave her partner for dead.
"I'm just really upset and I feel sorry for Shane and I'm so angry that somebody could so this," she told 9 News Perth.
"He did not deserve this... I mean no one deserves it, but Shane definitely does not deserve it."
Jess Smith who found Mr Lyons lying in the driveway around 7.30pm on Friday said the 30-year-old was covered in blood and not moving.
She said there was a large limestone rock lying next to Mr Lyons.
"He had a laceration to the face - had blood coming down his face and blood on his clothes," she said.
Police are expected to interview Mr Lyons when he recovers from his operation.
