They mean a lot to advertisers, but how are radio ratings formulated and why do they matter.
Nova 93.7, Radio 6PR and ABC720 all saw significant rises in audience share, with 6PR's jump of 0.6 per cent building on a 0.9 per cent jump in the last survey.
Ruling the all-important Breakfast timeslot was ABC720 with 13 per cent of audience share thanks to a 1.3 per cent rise in listeners to new presenter Peter Bell.
Mix94.5 remained on top in Drive despite a 1.8 per cent drop, with local presenters Lisa Shaw and Pete Curulli claiming 16.6 per cent of the total audience.
But the ratings revealed the naughty as well as the nice; 96FM, whose ratings have plummeted over the past 18 months after brand and line-up changes, recorded yet another drop of -0.5 per cent to sit at the bottom of the major station ladder.

"We've listened to Perth and, while we can't say too much for now, our approach will be shifting in early 2017," said Rick Dalton, commercial director in Perth for 96FM owner Australian Radio Network.
"We're looking forward to seeing how our city connects with these changes in the new year."
Thankfully for nationally syndicated Drive program hosts Dave "Hughesy" Hughes and Kate Langbroek, their crucial timeslot did buck the station's overall trend to rise by 0.3 per cent after a poor showing in the last survey.
