Western storms intensify

Severe thunderstorms are lashing parts of Western Australia today.
An upper trough crossing the state's South West Land Division is helping fuel the stormy weather.
Warnings have been issued across some inland districts for heavy rainfall which may cause flash flooding.
Katanning has already picked up the heaviest rain in four years, with 39mm between 9am and 2pm. Other notable totals in this time were 41mm at Mount Westdale 36mm at Darkan.
Elsewhere in the state, a warning was also issued today for damaging winds with storms forming along a front moving east. These storms were capable of generating damaging winds and gusts over 90km/h were clocked in parts of the Goldfields shortly before 2pm.
Storms will continue in the state's north, interior and southeast tomorrow, before clearing from the south on Wednesday.
