A search is underway in WA's north, for a man who jumped into the Ord River for a swim and then vanished.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was on a private boat with a group of people near Carlton Gorge on Kununurra's Ord River about 10am when he decided to go for a swim, according to police.
"The man then jumped into the water from the high point in the gorge ... he surfaced for a short time before disappearing underwater," a spokeswoman said.
His friends searched for him but could not find him.
