The International Olympic Committee (IOC; French: Comité international olympique, CIO) is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Lausanne, Switzerland, created by Pierre de Coubertin, on 23 June 1894 with Demetrios Vikelas as its first president. Today its membership consists of 100 active members, 32 honorary members, and 1 honour member. The IOC is the supreme authority of the worldwide modern Olympic movement.
The IOC organises the modern Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games, held in summer and winter, every four years. The first Summer Olympics organised by the IOC was held in Athens, Greece, in 1896; the first Winter Olympics was in Chamonix, France, in 1924. Until 1992, both Summer and Winter Olympics were held in the same year. After that year, however, the IOC shifted the Winter Olympics to the even years between Summer Games, to help space the planning of the two events from one another, and improve the financial balance of the IOC, which receives greater income on Olympic years. The first Summer Youth Olympics were in Singapore in 2010 and the first Winter Youth Olympics were held in Innsbruck in 2012.
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) is the National Olympic Committee responsible for developing, promoting and protecting the Olympic Movement in Australia. The AOC has the exclusive responsibility for the representation of Australia at the Olympic Games (Summer and Winter), the Youth Olympic Games and at Regional Games patronised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). All National Olympic Committees (currently 205 worldwide) are constituents of the International Olympic Committee.
The Australian Olympic Committee is composed of 35 member National Sport Federations representing each sport on the Olympic program for the Summer Olympic Games and the Olympic Winter Games. The AOC is represented in each State and Territory in Australia through State Olympic Councils who are responsible for promoting the Olympic ideals and values and raising funds for the Australian Olympic Teams.
The AOC is responsible for selecting the Team that represents Australia at the Olympic Games, after considering nominations by each National Sport Federation.

The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show broadcast from the Rockefeller Center in New York City and airing on NBC since 1954. It is the world's longest-running talk show, and the longest running, regularly scheduled entertainment program in the United States. It is the third-longest-running show on NBC, after only the news-and-talk shows Today and Meet the Press.
Over the course of more than 60 years, The Tonight Show has undergone only minor title changes. It aired under the name Tonight for several of its early years, eventually settling on The Tonight Show after the seating of long-time host Johnny Carson in 1962. In later decades, network programmers, advertisers, and the show's announcers would refer to the show by including the name of the host; for example, it is currently announced as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 1957, the show briefly tried a more news-style format. It has otherwise remained a talk show throughout its run.
The Tonight Show began broadcasting in 1954. It has had six official hosts, beginning with Steve Allen (1954–57), followed by Jack Paar (1957–62), Johnny Carson (1962–92), Jay Leno (1992–2009, 2010–14), Conan O'Brien (2009–10), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present). It has had several recurring guest hosts, a practice especially common during the Paar and Carson eras.

Kyrgios, 21, joins compatriot Bernard Tomic in withdrawing from the Games. AOC chef de mission Kitty Chiller had said the pair were "on watch" because of their behaviour. The world number 19 said he had pulled out with "a heavy heart" as the "AOC has chosen to publicly and privately disparage me". In a statement on his official website, he added: "AOC's unfair and unjust treatment of me over the last four weeks, as well as the organisation's crystal clear position on whether they want me to be a part of the Australian Olympic team, has solidified my final decision." Kyrgios received a code violation for shouting at a ball boy and was fine...

Kim Brennan (nee Crow) is an Olympic Gold medallist in rowing. An outstanding youth athlete, Kim had to cope with the burden of quitting her chosen sport of athletics (she was a World Youth silver medalist in the 400m hurdles) as the result of a career debilitating foot injury. In learning about herself through this disappointment, she channeled her determination into recovery and then into her new sport of rowing. Kim won herself a seat in the Australian women's eight within eight months of starting rowing, and went on to win a World Championships bronze medal that year. She has since raced internationally in all Olympic boat classes, culminating in an Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Rio Games. Four years earlier she won a silver and bronze medal in the double and single sculls respecti...

Much of the justification for hosting events centres on economic outcomes such as income generation and job creation. So how can we leverage our events in South Australia so that they can be used to our advantage and what can be achieved by taking a more critical approach? The strategic use of events is of particular significance to South Australia, the Festival State, where problems during 'mad March' raised concerns about the conflicting objectives of these events, as well as the number and timing of these events. Drawing on his wide range of international experience, Professor Graham Brown will provide an insight into portfolio planning and the use of events for destination promotion, improving business networks, and knowledge and skill development. The lecture will discuss cases ta...
