I still remember the ruckus at my high school the magical day Elle Macpherson's private chopper landed on a park across the road, and she exited gracefully to share a friendly wave to all the pimply boys pressed against windows.
But even that pales in comparison to what music students at Newtown's High School Of The Performing Arts would've felt when pop star Justin Timberlake turned up unannounced to host a "secret masterclass" at the school.

Justin Timberlake surprises Sydney school
Music mega star Justin Timberlake dropped in on a Sydney high school to hear them perform.
The singer shared a video of the event on his Facebook page this morning, shot while he was in Sydney in late November to promote his animated flick Trolls.
"Y'all are crazy talented!," he wrote in a public note to students, adding that he had "a blast" with the experience.
The video shows the school's Head Music Teacher Christopher Miller surprising students with news of the "special guest", as Timberlake steps out of hiding to gasps and squeals.
"This is a treat for me to come here to see and hear you guys," he says, as he takes a seat, cross-legged, by the front of stage, before students begin singing and performing in front of him.
"That scatting was on point," he tells jazz singer Ella-Jane Sharpe.
"That was jamming," he tells acapella group The Newtones, performing a cover of Kimbra's Good Intent.
He looks particularly impressed during an acoustic performance by student Fergus Lupton, exclaiming "What? I'd put that on the radio now," before drifting away with the song's finger-picked vibes.
"It was my own original song," Lupton told Lisa Wilkinson during an interview on Today this morning.
"Justin really got into how much he liked the lyrics, and how vulnerability is such an important thing in music. It was a great opportunity."
Miller said the whole thing was planned before Timberlake's promo tour even began, with 20th Century Fox, the studio behind Trolls, bringing the "concept" to the school.
"He started young, he knew where they were at, and everything he said was really genuine and positive," he added, saying he was in "disbelief" that the whole event actually happened.
Before jetting on the day, Timberlake - who appeared on Star Search as an 11-year-old before landing his first star gig at 12 as part of The Mickey Mouse Club alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling - shared some popstar wisdom with the kids.
"The only thing I will tell you is: stay curious and continue to ask questions," he says at the end of the video. He probably could've thrown in a warning about double-denim, too.Â
