DNA (Wanessa album)

DNA is the seventh studio album by Brazilian recording artist Wanessa, released on July 28, 2011 by Sony Music Entertainment.

Production

Musically, the album was influenced by contemporary pop, and other genres, with elements like funk carioca and R&B. DNA was produced by Mr. Jam and Dennonyx. The first information about DNA appeared in 2010 in an interview with radio Transamerica, revealing that the album would be entirely in English. The recording sessions started in São Paulo, Brazil and it was finished and mastered in New York, in the Sterling Sound Studios.

Background

On November 13, 2010 Wanessa revealed in an interview for the radio Transamerica her new album was recorded in early 2011, with an electropop dance sound, and would include the four songs from her EP "Party Line", "Stuck on Repeat", "Falling For U" and "Worth It". On January 8, 2011, against the comments that it would launch an international album, Wanessa, in an interview for Rolling Stone Brazil said that, her plans were to set herself in Brazil. In the same interview, the singer said she would be entering the studio to release her album at the end of March, which would be entirely in English and focusing on pop and a remix of the single "Stuck On Repeat", produced by American DJ Dave Aude, known by his work with Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff and Lady Gaga.

Kollekt

Kollekt is the sixth album by the Finnish experimental rock band Circle, led by bass guitarist Jussi Lehtisalo. It was released in 1998 by Bad Vugum. It collects the band's early singles, and previously unreleased songs from sessions for their first album, Meronia.

Weekend (2011 film)

Weekend is a 2011 British romantic drama film directed by Andrew Haigh. It stars Tom Cullen and Chris New as two men who meet and begin a sexual relationship the week before one of them plans to leave the country. The film won much praise after premiering at the SXSW festival in the US, and was a success at the box office in the UK and the US, where it received a limited release.

Plot

On a Friday night in Nottingham, Russell attends a house party with friends. He assures his best friend Jamie that he will be there Sunday for his daughter's birthday. Russell leaves early, but decides to go to a gay club, alone and looking for a hookup. Just before closing time he meets Glen, a student artist, and they have sex back at Russell's apartment. The next morning, Glen coaxes a hesitant Russell to speak into a voice recorder about their experience the previous night. Glen tells him this is for an art project. The more reserved Russell is taken aback by Glen's blunt discussion of sex. After Russell finishes, they exchange numbers and Glen leaves. Russell is shown writing about Glen on his laptop, evidently something he does after each of his encounters.

Jumping All Over the World

Jumping All Over the World is the thirteenth studio album by German eurodance group Scooter, released in Germany in 2007. Five singles have been released from it: "The Question Is What Is the Question?", "And No Matches", "Jumping All Over the World", a remix of "I'm Lonely" and a new version of "Jump That Rock!" titled "Jump That Rock (Whatever You Want)" recorded with British rock group Status Quo. The album's original artwork features people performing Jumpstyle.

A revised version of the album was released in the UK in 2008, their first album release in that country since The Stadium Techno Experience in 2003. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 1, replacing Madonna's album Hard Candy, and is their highest ever charting release there. On 30 May 2008 it was certified Gold by the BPI and on 22 August 2008 it was certified Platinum.

On 3 October 2008 a new version of Jumping All Over the World was released, titled Jumping All Over the World - Whatever You Want.

Weekend (Kenny Lattimore album)

Weekend is the third album of R&B singer Kenny Lattimore and the first under new record label Arista Records, released in 2001.

Biography

Weekend signified a new direction for Lattimore upon its release in 2001. Rather than progress further into the introspective soul territory of the critically acclaimed previous release From the Soul of Man, Weekend embraced a trendier modern-R&B sound. One reviewer observes, "On Weekend, he delivers an 11-track collection that alternately percolates and simmers, showing the young singer is equally at home whether he's pumping out a party jam or serenading a lover with a passionate ballad."

This new album for a new record label enlisted the help of newer producers like The Characters (Troy Taylor & Charles Farrar), Raphael Saadiq (of Tony! Toni! Tone! fame), and G-funk pioneer Battlecat. Overall, the acoustic guitars, jazz sensibilities, and old soul with which Lattimore was previously associated was replaced with mechanical, stuttering beats, synthesizers, and youthful lyrics.

100 euro note

The one hundred euro note (€100) is one of the higher value euro banknotes and has been used since the introduction of the euro (in its cash form) in 2002. The note is used daily by some 332 million Europeans and in the 23 countries which have it as their sole currency (with 22 legally adopting it).

It is the third largest note measuring 147 millimetres (5.8 in) × 82 millimetres (3.2 in) and has a green colour scheme. The hundred euro notes depict bridges and arches/doorways in the Baroque and Rococo style (between the 17th and 18th century).

The hundred euro note contains several complex security features such as watermarks, invisible ink, holograms and microprinting that document its authenticity. In May 2012, there were approximately 1,652,287,100 hundred euro banknotes in circulation in the eurozone.

History

The euro was founded on 1 January 1999, when it became the currency of over 300 million people in Europe. For the first three years of its existence it was an invisible currency, only used in accountancy. Euro cash was not introduced until 1 January 2002, when it replaced the national banknotes and coins of the countries in eurozone 12, such as the French franc and the Spanish peseta.
