    Australia's new arbiter of responsible betting, the esteemed Stephen Conroy esq, has wasted no time getting across his new brief jumping a plane to Darwin on Thursday to take part in a betting industry confab.

    The new head of the astroturfing outfit, Responsible Wagering Australia was among a grab-bag of online wagering house reps who travelled north to take part in a meeting convened by the NT Attorney-General's department (most of the large overseas betting houses are registered in the Territory, where they pay only a relatively piddling $550,000 licence fee to operate in Australia.
