Australian Chart Summary

Friday - Latest

Cool and showery onshore winds over VIC and TAS are producing showers in the wake of a cold front. A broad low pressure trough extending from northern NSW to WA is causing showers and thunderstorms. A large high over SA is bringing mild and settled conditions.

Saturday 22:00 EDT

A deepening trough will trigger showers and storms over western WA and across the tropics. Heavy falls are likely in the central QLD area. A high will bring a cool morning for inland parts followed by a dry day to SA, VIC and southern NSW.

Sunday 22:00 EDT

A low pressure trough will remain over inland QLD, bringing showers and storms with the potential for heavy falls. Another trough in the west will produce storms and push warm winds into western parts of SA. A high in the southeast will bring a dry day to most of VIC and TAS.

Monday 22:00 EDT

A trough in the west will bring showers and storms in WA, heaviest in the south. Hot northerly winds will push further into SA ahead of this system. A low pressure trough will trigger showers and storms for QLD and the NT. Moist onshore winds will trigger showers for coastal QLD.

Tuesday 22:00 EDT

Hot northwesterly winds will affect much of SA, VIC and NSW ahead of a low pressure trough, with thunderstorms and cool winds in its wake. A broad region of low pressure will produce showers and storms across northern parts of WA, the NT and northern QLD.

Wednesday 22:00 EDT

A complex low pressure looks to trigger showers and thunderstorms across most states, while directing hot northwesterly winds towards the NSW coast. Onshore winds should bring showers to VIC and TAS. A high is keeping southern parts of WA mostly dry.

Thursday 22:00 EDT

A complex low pressure trough could trigger showers and storms across the NT, QLD and NSW. Moist onshore winds along the QLD coast may cause showers. A building high in the south will bring a dry day to western parts of SA as well as southern and central parts of WA.
