Minor Flood Warning for the South Esk River

Flood Warning Number: 2

Minor flooding is expected to develop in the upper South Esk River at Fingal
late Friday morning. Minor flooding is not expected to extend further
downstream.

In the 24 hours to 9am Friday, up to 89mm of rainfall was recorded in the upper
reaches of the South Esk River. No significant rainfall is forecast for Friday.

Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard throughout the South Esk catchment
for the next few days.

Break O'Day River:
No significant rises are expected in the Break O'Day River.

South Esk River above Fingal:
River levels have peaked in the South Esk River above Fingal and will continue
to ease during Friday.

South Esk River - Fingal to Llewellyn:
Minor flooding is expected to develop along the South Esk River - Fingal to
Llewellyn.

The South Esk River at Fingal is currently at 3.85 metres and rising. The South
Esk River at Fingal is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) late
Friday morning. The river level is likely to peak between 4.10 and 4.40 metres
Friday afternoon.

The South Esk River at Llewellyn will remain below the minor flood level (4.00
m) during Friday.
