In her final days as Commander of the International Space Station, Sunita Williams of NASA recorded an extensive tour of the orbital laboratory and downlinked the video on Nov. 18, just hours before she, cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency departed in their Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. The tour includes scenes of each of the station's modules and research facilities with a running narrative by Williams of the work that has taken place and which is ongoing aboard the orbital outpost.

Most airports in the country do not have a Standard Instrument Departure or SID. John wrote to us on our website to ask how he would file a flight plan from an airport that did not have a Standard Instrument Departure Procedure.
In this lesson we take a look at how you would file a flight plan from Troy Municipal Airport in Troy, Alabama. Troy does not lie on a victor airway, nor does it have a navaid on the field.
When filing a flight plan using victor airways (we're using a no GPS example for this lesson), the first fix always needs to be a fix that will get us on to the airway. We can't just file from the airport to the airway since we have no idea where on the airway that would put us.
So our flight plan would look like:
Departure Airport -- Navaid/Intersection -- Airway -- Rest of route
That way, you know exactly where you are intercepting the airway, and air traffic control knows exactly what you are doing. This keeps you safe using proper altitudes and routes, and keeps you right on track.

At the adjacent platform, the 18 hours late running 12332 Jammu Tawi (JAT)- Howrah (HWH) HIMGIRI Tri- Weekly Superfast is seen getting ready to be shunted to the yard by a HWH WDS- 6R. Another blue Shunter is seen busy shunting the rake of 13051 Howrah (HWH)- Siuri (SURI) HOOL Express to the designated platform.
Next, we see a parallel action between a SER EMU and a KGP WDM- 3A heading towards the station, the later shunting the empty rake of 12857 Howrah (HWH)- Digha F.S. (DGHA) TAMRALIPTA Superfast. The train would commence its journey with an off-link 21307 VSKP WAM- 4 6P, and the HOOL with 22289 HWH WAP- 4.
Later, shockingly, we cross 25019 SRC WAP- 4 heading towards the station from the HWH ELS, and the stationary 12346 Guwahati (GHY)- Howrah (HWH) SARAIGHAT Superfast with 20076 WDP- 4 in lead.
Finally, after taking the HB Main line, as we accelerate, we meet a solitary 11403 HWH WDM- 3D, and then race past the HWH ELS and ETS (Electric Trip Shed).
As a matter of fact, Howrah is the only station in India to have cab road facility. The cab roads are situated in between platforms 8 and 9, and 21 and 22. It allows travellers to park their cars right in front of their respective coaches. And with 23 platforms, it is also India's biggest station.

Departing (album)
Departing is the second full-length album by Canadian indie rock band The Rural Alberta Advantage, released 1 March 2011 on Paper Bag Records in Canada and Saddle Creek Records in the United States.
In a review of their December 2010 concert performance at Lee's Palace, The Globe and Mail recommended the album as a must-hear for 2011.
The album was named as a longlisted nominee for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize.
The song "Tornado '87" is about the Edmonton tornado of July 31, 1987, which occurred when band leader Nils Edenloff was living in that city.

Most airports in the country do not have a Standard Instrument Departure or SID. John wrote to us on our website to ask how he would file a flight plan from an airport that did not have a Standard Instrument Departure Procedure.
In this lesson we take a look at how you would file a flight plan from Troy Municipal Airport in Troy, Alabama. Troy does not lie on a victor airway, nor does it have a navaid on the field.
When filing a flight plan using victor airways (we're using a no GPS example for this lesson), the first fix always needs to be a fix that will get us on to the airway. We can't just file from the airport to the airway since we have no idea where on the airway that would put us.
So our flight plan would look like:
Departure Airport -- Navaid/Intersection -- Airway -- Rest of route
That way, you know exactly where you are intercepting the airway, and air traffic control knows exactly what you are doing. This keeps you safe using proper altitudes and routes, and keeps you right on track.

At the adjacent platform, the 18 hours late running 12332 Jammu Tawi (JAT)- Howrah (HWH) HIMGIRI Tri- Weekly Superfast is seen getting ready to be shunted to the yard by a HWH WDS- 6R. Another blue Shunter is seen busy shunting the rake of 13051 Howrah (HWH)- Siuri (SURI) HOOL Express to the designated platform.
Next, we see a parallel action between a SER EMU and a KGP WDM- 3A heading towards the station, the later shunting the empty rake of 12857 Howrah (HWH)- Digha F.S. (DGHA) TAMRALIPTA Superfast. The train would commence its journey with an off-link 21307 VSKP WAM- 4 6P, and the HOOL with 22289 HWH WAP- 4.
Later, shockingly, we cross 25019 SRC WAP- 4 heading towards the station from the HWH ELS, and the stationary 12346 Guwahati (GHY)- Howrah (HWH) SARAIGHAT Superfast with 20076 WDP- 4 in lead.
Finally, after taking the HB Main line, as we accelerate, we meet a solitary 11403 HWH WDM- 3D, and then race past the HWH ELS and ETS (Electric Trip Shed).
As a matter of fact, Howrah is the only station in India to have cab road facility. The cab roads are situated in between platforms 8 and 9, and 21 and 22. It allows travellers to park their cars right in front of their respective coaches. And with 23 platforms, it is also India's biggest station.
