La R21 arrive, une redoutable concurrente pour la BX déjà bien implantée. La R21 offre un chassis en net progrès par rapport à la R18 dérivée de la R12 sans atteindre malgré tout le niveau technique de la Citroën pourtant hérité de la GS-A... et pourtant en retrait partiel par rapport à cette dernière !. Le match se jouera donc sur le prix d'attaque, donc la stratégie Renault et une bataille d'image et d'esthétique... Il faudra tout de même attendre quelques années pour avoir droit à une R21 bicorps.
Tout ne peut reposer sur les qualités d'une relative voiture d'ingénieur dont les raffinements techniques échappent bien souvent aux acheteurs. Avec le recul, le vieillissement des intérieurs démasquera une qualité moindre pour la R21 (décollage des tissus par exemple) malgré la finition tant décriée de la BX aux mousses de sièges et aux garnissages étonnement durables si ils n'étaient pas invulnérables, mais comme toutes les autos de l'époque, aux UV...
Encore quelques mois et la BX ph2 remplacera la première mouture, abandonnant ses compteurs à voyants, tambour et loupe, lisibles mais trop typés 70/début 80's (déjà abandonnés sur les 1900 essence). Finis également les sattelites, on retrouvera des commodos classiques. Le tableau de bord quoique réussi de la R21 n'aura pas un avantage décisif, elle s'essayera même au digital mais à plus grande échelle et moins exclusif et surprenant que la BX DIGIT... les mauvaises langues disent que Renault a même singé le décalage du sigle sur la face avant, le camp adverse se rattrapera aux branches en citant d'anciennes 4L.

Document argumentation - force de vente, je le rappelle... faite par la communication interne Citroën pour son réseau et surtout ses vendeurs.
La R21 arrive, une redoutable concurrente pour la BX déjà bien implantée. La R21 offre un chassis en net progrès par rapport à la R18 dérivée de la R12 sans atteindre malgré tout le niveau technique de la Citroën pourtant hérité de la GS-A... et pourtant en retrait partiel par rapport à cette dernière !. Le match se jouera donc sur le prix d'attaque, donc la stratégie Renault et une bataille d'image et d'esthétique... Il faudra tout de même attendre quelques années pour avoir droit à une R21 bicorps.
Tout ne peut reposer sur les qualités d'une relative voiture d'ingénieur dont les raffinements techniques échappent bien souvent aux acheteurs. Avec le recul, le vieillissement des intérieurs démasquera une qualité moindre pour la R21 (décollage des tissus par exemple) malgré la finition tant décriée de la BX aux mousses de sièges et aux garnissages étonnement durables si ils n'étaient pas invulnérables, mais comme toutes les autos de l'époque, aux UV...
Encore quelques mois et la BX ph2 remplacera la première mouture, abandonnant ses compteurs à voyants, tambour et loupe, lisibles mais trop typés 70/début 80's (déjà abandonnés sur les 1900 essence). Finis également les sattelites, on retrouvera des commodos classiques. Le tableau de bord quoique réussi de la R21 n'aura pas un avantage décisif, elle s'essayera même au digital mais à plus grande échelle et moins exclusif et surprenant que la BX DIGIT... les mauvaises langues disent que Renault a même singé le décalage du sigle sur la face avant, le camp adverse se rattrapera aux branches en citant d'anciennes 4L.
