Imagine Software was a British video games developer based in Liverpool which existed briefly in the early 1980s, initially producing software for the ZX Spectrum and VIC-20. The company rose quickly to prominence and was noted for its polished, high-budget approach to packaging and advertising (at a time when this was not commonplace in the British software industry), as well as its self-promotion and ambition.
Following Imagine's prominent demise under mounting debts in 1984, the name was bought and used as a label by Ocean Software until the late 1980s.
Imagine Software was founded in 1982 by former members of Bug-Byte including Mark Butler, David Lawson and Eugene Evans. Butler and Evans had previously worked at Microdigital, one of the first computer stores in the UK. Imagine Software produced several very successful games, including Arcadia for the Vic 20 and ZX Spectrum, before running into financial trouble in late 1983.

According to Billboard, Imagine Dragons topped the year-end rock rankings for 2013;Billboard named them "The Breakthrough Band of 2013", and Rolling Stone named their single "Radioactive" "the biggest rock hit of the year".MTV called them "the year's biggest breakout band".

In May 2014, the band was nominated for a total of fourteen different Billboard Music Awards, including Top Artist of the Year and a Milestone Award, recognizing innovation and creativity of different artists across different genres.

The Commodore 64, also known as the C64, C-64, C= 64, or occasionally CBM 64 or VIC-64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced in January 1982 by Commodore International. It is listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-selling single computer model of all time, with independent estimates placing the number sold between 10 and 17 million units.
Volume production started in early 1982, with machines being released on to the market in August at a price of US$595 (roughly equivalent to $1,500 in 2016). Preceded by the Commodore VIC-20 and Commodore PET, the C64 takes its name from its 64 kilobytes (65,536 bytes) of RAM, and has technologically superior sound and graphical specifications when compared to some earlier systems such as the Apple II and Atari 800, with multi-color sprites and a more advanced sound processor.
The C64 dominated the low-end computer market for most of the 1980s. For a substantial period (1983–1986), the C64 had between 30% and 40% share of the US market and two million units sold per year, outselling the IBM PC compatibles, Apple Inc. computers, and the Atari 8-bit family of computers. Sam Tramiel, a later Atari president and the son of Commodore's founder, said in a 1989 interview, "When I was at Commodore we were building 400,000 C64s a month for a couple of years." In the UK market, the 64 faced competition from the BBC Micro and the ZX Spectrum but the 64 was still one of the two most-popular computers in the UK.
It's another big Spectrum software documentary! This time, it's a company that burnt very bright for a very short period - Imagine. After just one year where they looked like the biggest company of them all and released games like Arcadia and Ah Diddums, they tore themselves apart with bad management and...well, not being good with money. And most of it was caught on camera...we alluded to their story back in the Ocean video, but they certainly deserve a full one all of their own. Enjoy! The original Breakout concept involves controlling a bat at the bottom of the screen and using it to catch and direct a ball so as to hit all the bricks which are arranged at the top of the screen. It was unpopular for over a decade, before Taito revived it with some new ideas in this arcade game. The game's plot redefines the bat as a Vaus spaceship, the ball as an energy bolt, and the bricks form a mysterious wall stopping the ship from progressing to safety. By the mid-80s, power-ups were popular in most types of arcade games, and Arkanoid features them. Well, here it is: The documentary on the entire history of Ocean Software, from start to finish: The early days with Imagine, the glorious success that Robocop bought, licensed game after licensed game, Batman to Daley Thompson, Cobra to Frankie, Jurassic Park to the Addams Family...and finally to the end. Gary Bracey once said that Ocean were the biggest games company in the world...so, where they? Enjoy! Special thanks to Chris Wikins and Roger M. Finally, the U.S Gold video is here! A documentary covering the story of possibly the UK computer scene's most dominant publisher in the 1980's, and plenty of their games - from the classics like Beach-Head and Flashback to...um, World Cup Carnival. A huge deal on everything from the C64 to the Mega Drive, and a company with a somewhat lousy reputation...one that's perhaps a little undeserved? Let's see. Enjoy!
