Film legend Jack Thompson found the task gruelling.
The star of scores of films, ranging from Breaker Morant to Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones, will headline local and international guests attending the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane on Thursday.
And with the Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival kicking off on Wednesday, Thompson has shared his top five picks for the city's festival which will feature 31 of the 39 films nominated for an ASPA.
"There's such a broad run of films this year," he said.
"The documentaries will knock you off your feet, there's mind-boggling experimental films and stories that really open your eyes to worlds you never knew existed.
"It was gruelling to pick just five."
