Welcome to the first of iTravel’s exciting 3-part Destination special focusing on the spectacular northern Thai province of Chiang Rai. In return, we got to share what we do and the shows we cre...

Check out our exclusive member site: http://goo.gl/M0nMT5 Living or retiring in Chiang Mai seems to be what retirees want to do. But due to the recent floods and problems in the Central and Southern parts of Thailand many people, including Thais, are moving to the North and to Chiang Mai. Couple this with the desire for Thais to live a more middle class lifestyle complete with a vehicle and Chiang Mai now is experiencing challenges with overcrowding on the roads and more pollution. As I say, "there's always an option", and that is why I want to show you all the other great places to live in Thailand and in the neighboring countries. This time my road trip takes me to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is further north ...
Check out our exclusive member site: http://goo.gl/M0nMT5 Part 4 of living or retiring in Chiang Rai includes is an interview with one of our members who is living up in the mountains over Chiang Rai and living on a coffee farm in a hill tribe village. Let's see what inspired him to make the move and how he feels about living in the Thai mountains. And learn about Kopi luwak, or civet coffee. Thailand is a coffee nation, ranked fourth (after Vietnam, Indonesia and India) in Asia in annual raw coffee production. While there are many species of coffee trees in the world, only Arabica and Robusta have major economic significance, both of which are grown in Thailand.
