Aditya Roy Kapur

Aditya Roy Kapur (pronounced [ədiːtyəˈ royˈ kəˈpuːr]; born 16 November 1985) is an Indian film actor and former VJ who works in Hindi films. After a brief career as a video jockey on Channel V, he made his film debut with a minor role in the musical drama London Dreams (2009) and followed it by playing supporting roles in the box-office flops, the science fiction Action Replayy (2010) and the drama Guzaarish (2010). He rose to prominence in 2013 by playing the male lead in the highly successful romantic drama Aashiqui 2. That same year, he played a supporting role in the coming-of-age romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which ranks among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all-time and earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 59th Filmfare Awards. He received further success for portraying lead in the commercially successful romantic drama Fitoor for which he received positive reviews.

Aditya Roy Kapur was born in Mumbai on 16 November 1985, to a Punjabi father and an Indian-Jewish mother, Salome Roy Kapur nee Aaron. Kapur is the youngest of the three siblings, his eldest brother Siddharth Roy Kapur is the Chief Executive Officer of UTV Motion Pictures, who had married actress Vidya Balan and his second elder brother Kunaal Roy Kapur is also an actor.

Shraddha Kapoor (born 3 March 1989) is an Indian film actress and singer who works in Bollywood films. The daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor, she began her acting career with a brief role in the 2010 heist film Teen Patti, and followed it with her first leading role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End (2011). Kapoor received a Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination for her breakthrough role in the romantic drama Aashiqui 2 (2013) and portrayed the Ophelia character in Haider (2014), an adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. Kapoor's biggest commercial successes are the thriller Ek Villain (2014) and the dance film ABCD 2 (2015).

Kapoor was born and raised in Mumbai into a mixed ethnic family. On her father's side, Kapoor is of Punjabi descent, and on her mother's side, she is of predominantly Marathi ancestry. Like her mother, Kapoor has stated that she is a complete Marathi. She has said that she went through a tomboyish phase as a child. Kapoor's family members, including her father Shakti Kapoor and mother Shivangi Kapoor, her elder brother Siddhanth Kapoor, her two aunts Padmini Kolhapure and Tejaswini Kolhapure are actors in films.

Ādityas

In Hinduism, Ādityas (Sanskrit: आदित्य, pronounced [ɑːd̪it̪jɐ]), meaning "of Aditi", refers to the offspring of Aditi. The name, Aditya,is used in the singular to mean the Sun God, Surya.

The Bhagavata Purana lists a total of twelve Adityas as Sun-gods. In each month of the year a different Aditya is said to shine. Each of these Adityas is a different expression of Lord Vishnu in the form of the Sun-God.

The eighth Āditya (Mārtanda) was rejected by Aditi, thus leaving only seven sons. In the Yajurveda (Taittirīya Samhita), their number is given as eight, and the last one is believed to be Vivasvān. Hymn LXXII of the Rig Veda, Book 10, also confirms that there are nine Adityas, the eighth one being Mārtanda, who is later revived as Vivasvān.
