These campaigners did what they did because they knew it was right - not because they were being paid. We all have a right to speak our minds. This doesn't mean anyone is obliged to subsidise our opinions, or finance the dissemination of our views.

Art has always been a point of expression - an outlet for some with which they process, understand and portray the world around them so it is vital, especially in these times of social and political change that we allow young people access to this resource. I never imagined that I would be where I am and if not for the teachers and access to music education that I encountered along the way, I wouldn't be. I cannot list them all but I'd like to acknowledge the teacher who first believed in me. Thank you Mrs. Matthews.

It essential that we continue to emphasise and support organisational awareness and action, but also help parents and carers act in an informed manner where they can also help encourage good child protection. The NSPCC will also continue its systematic work in schools to help develop a resilience in children that helps them speak out and stay safe.

"This is not your country" - my neighbour said to me 20 years ago after a louder-than-usual party the previous night... An Irish friend came to my rescue, telling her that England wasn't his country either and that she should be ashamed of herself. Now, after 25 years of living, working and raising a family in the UK, the same is happening again: friends and strangers are coming up to me to remind me how much I am part of this country.

It is easy in our work to forget the impact we can have on those we care for, as it is something we all love doing. It is an immense privilege spending time with people towards the end of their lives and such rewarding work. Sometimes though, there are extra special moments and that Christmas day was one of them.

To put it bluntly, there will come a Christmas without you. Hopefully, it'll come much later, but it might come sooner. That's not a morbid thought, it's a centering thought. Your kids will always have stuff. They will not always have you.

When one of your children is diagnosed with cancer, it feels like everything else around you stops. All you can focus on is doing whatever you can to help them get better. Your life becomes a blur of hospital appointments and treatment, speaking with doctors, nurses, and reassuring everyone (including yourself) that it will all be ok.

The project aims to ensure no elderly person is forced to spend Christmas day alone by arranging events for local people on the 25th December. With new research by AgeUK revealing nearly a million older people feel lonelier at Christmas compared to the rest of the year, the project has never been more needed.

I will not allow this report to be used to vilify my community as if all Muslims are the same - they are not and it's not what it says. Suggestions that the vote has been an "anti-establishment, populist revolt" are too simplistic... Who was the establishment figure? Aleppo has been in the news for months, but the brutal reality of this humanitarian catastrophe has never been as bad as this. Simply put, the Assad regime and its backers are trying to turn eastern Aleppo into a coffin.

I was reminded of the valued contribution of the charity sector and its volunteers to end of life care when I recently met with a local Marie Curie Helper volunteer, who was providing incredible support and companionship to a constituent affected by a terminal illness.

It will take a few years, but those few years are also needed for Britain's progressive forces to regroup and rebuild a political movement capable of governing and leading Britain back to the EU. And hopefully a similar restoration of sanity - based on reality - can occur in the US.

For nearly 100 years, Jewish students and UJS have worked with NUS to combat racism and fascism, to fight for a better world. It saddens me greatly that because of antisemitic comments and crucially, a lack of action from its current president, Jewish students will take a decision this Sunday that could suspend UJS' relationship with NUS.
