Cricket’s golden couple Alyssa Healy and Mitchell Starc scored a pre-auction sale on their Mosman home on Monday of about $5.8 million.

The exact sale price was left undisclosed by McGrath’s Michael Rava, but the property was listed with a guide of $5.5 million to $6 million ahead of this weekend’s scheduled auction, and a source said the result was at the upper end of the agent’s range.

The 26-year-old couple are moving to North Curl Curl where they were the successful bidders at last month’s auction of the home of supermodel Jen Hawkins and her husband, Jake Wall.

Hawkins and Wall had commissioned the design of the house by Koichi Takada Architects after they purchased what was a comparatively humble weatherboard cottage on the site in 2013 for $1.66 million.

The same design firm have recently completed the Newport home of Hawkins and Wall on the waterfront blocks they purchased in 2014 for $4 million.

The latest sale price of the North Curl Curl property remains shrouded in mystery, but is expected to be a little more than $5.2 million when it settles.

The cricketing champions are ahead financially in their trade-up plans, given a $500,000 difference between their purchase and sale prices.

Starc, regarded as Australia’s best fast bowler of the moment, bought his Mosman home for $4.55 million two years ago from businessman Necati Ates and his wife Aynur Ates, who had built the ultra-contemporary residence.

At the time it was a decent trade up for the then 24-year-olds from their first home in Breakfast Point. Having bought into the Sydney property market in 2012 for $960,000, the couple then offloaded their three-bedroom spread early last year for $1,275,000.

Healy, a wicketkeeper who has just re-signed with the Sydney Sixers, comes from a long line of cricketing greats. Her dad, Greg Healy, played for Queensland and her uncle, Ian Healy, was a Test wicketkeeper.
