YULE BE COOL
Michelle Glew-Rosstalks to Sunday Life about Christmas with her husband Tim and their two boys, Bugsy, 5, and Bobby Arrow, 2.
What are your family Christmas traditions?
Because Tim's family is in Melbourne and mine is in Sydney, we alternate. If we're having Christmas in Sydney, we'll have friends over on Christmas Eve for burgers.
On Christmas Day my family comes over for the big feast at lunch. Tim cooks for everybody – he does pork, ham, all the vegies. Because I'm vegetarian, he makes me vegetarian gravy and stuffing, which I have with potatoes, and all the sauces from scratch – cranberry, apple. He's pretty good.
What will you be doing for Christmas this year?
We're actually going back to the house where we got married in February 2008. It's the Boyd Baker House, in the bush near Bacchus Marsh, and it's absolutely beautiful.
We're lucky enough to have the house for Christmas with Tim's family. Then we're having all my family to our place in Sydney on the 28th for a second go.
What do you love best about Christmas?
Everything! That it's summer, the carols, the excitement of the kids, everyone's spirit.
What's been your best Christmas as a family?
I love when Tim's family comes up from Melbourne. Last year they all came to Sydney and Bugsy had reached an age where he was starting to enjoy Christmas.
I think this year will be even better because Bobby is now 2½, so he gets it, too.
