On-air swear

"Former Australian cricket captain Ian Chappell is in hot water over his swearing. He was suspended indefinitely yesterday from Wide World of Sport after uttering a series of swear words. After Chappell made an on-air apology, Mike Gibson confirmed the suspension and said he would be taking over for the rest of the afternoon. When retiring last year Chappell said: 'I swear naturally. I don't swear to be abusive.' "

Hitmen for Reagan

"Five Libyan 'hitmen' have infiltrated the USA to assassinate President Reagan, an informant has told federal agencies. The five are the first from a special terrorism training school in Libya being sent to kill American leaders. The informant has seen the training school and is considered reliable. Assassination plans include shooting down Air Force One with a missile and attacking his motorcade with a rocket "

Work starts on mega musical

"It had to be the most expensive chorus line in the history of Australian entertainment: Michael Pate, Max Phipps, Noel Ferrier, Graham Kennedy and Hayes Gordon, to name the heavies.
