Victorian spinner Jon Holland has overcome an early injury concern to lead his side's dismantling of Tasmania's top order on day one of their day/night Sheffield Shield clash in Hobart.
At dinner on Monday, the hosts are 6-149 after a dismal display at Bellerive Oval.
After 11 overs of play, and without having bowled a delivery, Holland left his teammates concerned as he limped off the ground.
But it was a shortlived complaint, with the spinner returning to take the pink ball just a few overs later, and quickly making a dent in the Tigers' line-up.
With openers Jordan Silk (14) and Ben Dunk (20) caught at slip and trapped lbw respectively, Jake Hancock (four) on debut fell soon after.
Bowling his third over, Holland (2-28) disposed of Beau Webster (one) who played a lazy shot, delivering a sitter to slip.
Having struggled to scratch together 4-65 at the first break, the subsequent loss of Ben McDermott (17) made for dire viewing from the Tasmanian sheds.
A half-century by Dom Michael (54) offered the hosts a glimmer of hope.
Often overlooked by selectors, Michael carved out an impressive score on the green pitch and reached his 50 from 79 deliveries by walloping a six.
But just six deliveries later, Holland struck, with Michael chipping a ball high on the legside, where he was caught.
The wicket ended a 62-run partnership with No.7 Jake Doran (17no) and brought Simon Milenko (8no) to the middle.
Fresh from Test duties, stand-in Tigers skipper Jackson Bird won the toss and chose to bat first.
With regular captain George Bailey and valuable allrounder James Faulkner in Australia's one-day camp, and experienced batsman Alex Doolan still unfit with a jaw injury, Tassie's line-up was left wanting against a Bushrangers side who are unbeaten this Shield season.
Victoria's pacemen Chris Tremain (2-30), Scott Boland (1-37) and John Hastings (1-22) also shared in the spoils.
