AFL player Jarman Impey was involved in two crashes at Norwood last night before fleeing the scene, the Port Adelaide Football Club has confirmed.

The club said Impey, 21, was cooperating with South Australian Police following the crash, which involved five cars, at 7:00pm on Saturday.

Police said a white Commodore was seen in George Street, where it drove onto the wrong side of the road and hit a parked ute, which then hit another car in front of it.

The Commodore then continued down George Street and hit another parked car, pushing it into a fourth vehicle.

A Commodore with extensive damage was towed from a nearby street, and witnesses reported seeing a male with tanned skin and short dark hair flee the area.

A second car, an Audi, was also towed from the scene.

Police said nobody was in the parked cars at the time of the crashes.

A Port Adelaide Football Club spokesperson said Impey was not injured in the crash.

Impey is believed to have been attending a gathering at the home of teammate Angus Monfries at the time.

Impey has been reported for the incident and will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

Neighbours 'gave chase' after crash

Neighbour Robert Buckland witnessed the incident.

"I just heard tyres squealing, rubber burning, looked up to see a white car swinging around the road crashing into a few other vehicles and then shoot up along Bonney Street," he said.

"It all happened very quickly. A few of the neighbours I think gave chase, I just drove around to have a look.

"That's when I saw from a distance a figure run out [of the car], a door open, a figure run out and that was essentially it."

Ruth Renstschler left her car in the street outside a friend's house before a night out, and returned this morning to find it damaged.

"I've just come on my bike to pick up my car and I thought, that wasn't there before so I'm glad that you know who did it because that means that I can claim on insurance," she said.

"The first thing I thought was, I didn't do that. I thought I'm certain I didn't do that."

She said she was "shocked" and "disappointed" that the person responsible had driven off, but not surprised.

"Not surprised because my friends next door tell me they have parties every weekend and they're quite raucous."
