A nine-year-old boy has died after collapsing from a suspected heart attack during at basketball match in Warwick.
He was rushed to Joondalup Health Campus, where WA Police confirmed, he later died.
St John Ambulance spokesman Dennis Betoldo said paramedics were called to the scene just before 11am.
"The crew then had to attempt resuscitation and the boy was taken to Joondalup Health Campus on priority one, lights and sirens," he said.
The boy belonged to the Lakeside Basketball club in North Lake.
A spokesman for Basketball WA told WAtoday that it would not be releasing any statement about the incident following a request from WA Police.
Earlier Basketball WA confirmed via its Facebook page that all games for the remainder of the day had been cancelled.
