Hale Hamilton

Hale Rice Hamilton (February 28, 1880 – May 19, 1942) was an American actor, writer and producer. He was born in Topeka, Kansas. (His birth year is also given as 1879 and 1883.)

Hamilton was married to three actresses, Jane Oaker, Myrtle Tannehill, and Grace La Rue. Tannehill sued Hamilton, accusing him of being lured away from her by La Rue.

He died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Hollywood, California.

Hamilton is a 2006 independent drama film directed by Matthew Porterfield, set and shot in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The film was screened at several international film festivals, including the Maryland Film Festival. It was released on DVD by The Cinema Guild as part of a two-disc set with Porterfield's second feature, Putty Hill, on November 8, 2011.

Plot

The film's plot deals with two accidental parents and how they manage to work their lives around being premature parents.

Hamilton (crater)

Hamilton is a lunar impact crater that is located near the southeastern limb of the Moon. From the Earth this crater is viewed nearly from the edge, limiting the amount of detail that can be observed. It can also become hidden from sight due to libration, or brought into a more favorably viewing position.

This crater is situated almost due east of the lava-flooded crater Oken, near the uneven Mare Australe. To the northeast of Hamilton, along the lunar limb, is the flooded crater Gum. Less than three crater diameters to the south is the flooded walled plain Lyot.

This is a nearly circular crater, although the rim to the north is somewhat straightened. It has a well-formed edge that has not been noticeably degraded through impact erosion. There are terraces along the interior sides, particularly along the western edge (which is hidden from view from the Earth.) The interior floor is deep and uneven, with an impact feature joining the midpoint to the north-northwestern inner wall.

Hamilton GO Centre

Hamilton GO Centre is a GO Transit train and bus station located at Hunter Street East and Hughson Street South in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Unlike other GO Stations, which usually just connect with local public transit buses, the Centre doubles as a regional bus terminal for private intercity coach carriers including Greyhound Canada and Coach Canada.

History

Hamilton GO Centre is the only example of Art Deco railway station architecture in Canada. It opened in 1933 as the head office and the Hamilton station of the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Railway. Passenger service on the TH&B was discontinued on April 26, 1981, and the TH&B merged into the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1987, leaving the facility completely disused.

In the early 1990s, GO Transit provided service out of two different facilities in Hamilton: trains were routed along the CN Grimsby subdivision to the Hamilton CNR Station 1.6 km to the north, and buses operated out of an older bus station at on the northern edge of Hamilton's Central Business District at John Street North and Rebecca Street. In order to better connect GO Transit service to Hamilton's CBD, improve the interface with the Hamilton Street Railway, and consolidate train and bus services at a single site, renovations were undertaken to convert the TH&B station into the Hamilton GO Centre. The new facility, designed by Garwood-Jones & Hanham Architects, opened on April 30, 1996.

Hale (Martian crater)

Hale is a 150 km × 125 km (93 mi × 78 mi) crater at 35.7°S, 323.4°E on Mars, just north of Argyre basin. The crater is in the Argyre quadrangle. On 2015 September 28th NASA confirmed the seasonal existence of liquid water in Hale crater. The salts in the water (magnesium perchlorate, magnesium chlorate, sodium perchlorate,...) lower its freezing and melting point to 203 K (−70 °C or −94 °F), which is near the average summer night temperature. Hale was created by an asteroid roughly 35 km (22 mi) across that impacted at an oblique angle about 3.5–3.8 billion years ago. The rim and ejecta are eroded and show smaller impacts, but subsequent deposits have covered up small craters within it. On the southern rim of Hale, parts of the crater wall have moved downslope towards the crater's centre. The surface shows a network of fluvial channels which may have been caused by running water.

It is named after George Ellery Hale.

The wall of Hale Crater has a large number of gullies. Some are pictured below in an image from HiRISE. Unlike, some other gullies on Mars, these are in light-toned materials. Research published in the journal Icarus has found pits in Hale Crater that are caused by hot ejecta falling on ground containing ice. The pits are formed by heat forming steam that rushes out from groups of pits simultaneously, thereby blowing away from the pit ejecta.

Hale (band)

Hale is an alternative rock band from Manila, Philippines. The group consisted of Champ Lui Pio, Roll Martinez, Sheldon Gellada, and Paolo Santiago.

History

Formation (2004)

Roll Martinez and Sheldon Gellada were music majors from University of Santo Tomas, Champ Lui-Pio was from De La Salle University - College of Saint Benilde and former drummer Omnie Saroca was from Technological University of the Philippines. All four of them met up to form Hale in mid-2004 and soon after signed up to EMI Philippines (now PolyEast Records).

Debut Album and Mainstream Success (2005 – 2006)

In 2005, A Rock Band named Hale released their debut self-titled album Hale, consisting of singles "Broken Sonnet", "The Day You Said Goodnight", "Kahit Pa", "Kung Wala Ka" and "Blue Sky", together with "Tollgate" which was released together with the re-issuing of the album on March 2, 2006. "The Day You Said Goodnight" marked the first steps of Hale's massive success to the mainstream and gained tremendous popularity as the singles were released. "The Day You Said Goodnight" was also nominated many times by most of the music media as OPM Song Of The Year 2005. Soon, the band was also nominated as Band Of The Year 2005 and Best New OPM Artist for 2005.
