Hayley Comments: This is what the back-cover says, “Warning: Graphic sex between a human woman and an alien male who is anatomically different from human men!”

Many thanks to Hayley!

“So then after all that and we finally make… love… I eat all your internal organs and wear your skin as a sign of my power. Tonight is going to be so romantic.”

He certainly is anatomically different. He appears to have had spherical shoulder-pads implanted under his skin.
Does it seriously say that on the back cover? Golly, talk about PWP…

Not saying that he looks very real. But she looks like a mannequin.

Wow, I think this may be the first example of obvious CG we’ve seen on this site. I hope it’s not a new trend in cover art.

Issed? Stark Issed?

Is this self-published? I found a website saying it is “available” from Samhain Publishing (cool name btw!) but I am not sure if they are the ones who actually published it. On a related note, the cover quality–interms of resolution and color saturation–looks much better on the website. Might this be at least partly because the cover here is a photograph of the printed version?

Tom, sadly it is. So is the “I just installed Photoshop!” school of cover design. And as an illustrator, this makes me sad.

Who needs a talented artist when Poser and Photoshop Elements are so cheap?

This is almost as hot as Louis Gossett Jr. and Randy Quaid having a baby in Enemy Mine (1985).

…found the cover artist: Trace Edward Zaber (most likely a pseudonym)

It’s a Final Fantasy girl mating with a random Star Trek extra.

Thanks, SeriesFive, to the links to TEZ’s other ‘artwork’. (Eyes of Betrayal was my fav.)

Nope, no eating of internal organs before, during, or after mating. 😉 And nope, no PWP. There’s a plot, it’s very romantic, and there are a couple of love scenes but they don’t really drive the story. Just a little extra oomph. LOL
Starkissed (star-kissed, not stark-issed) is not self-published. It is published by Samhain Publishing. The cover artist is Christine Clavel. Since the hero is an alien, I believe she did use Poser. Real aliens don’t like to model… 😛 (She did an excellent job with the hero. Yes, the woman doesn’t look quite lifelike, but Poser has its limitations.)
Trace Edward Zaber (his real name, as far as I know) was the cover artist for a previous edition when it was with Amber Quill Press, another e-pub. Not sure how he got credited with the current cover.
The “Warning” on the back cover is something Samhain does, kind of like the Disclaimers at the end of Xena episodes. Most of their books have them.
Starkissed is available in the Kindle store at Amazon. It’s a full-length novel at 80k and reasonably priced at $4.24. Here’s the link if you’d like to check it out.

Sorry I’m so late responding to this, but I just now ran across it.
Thanks!

Hey Lannette! Thanks for commenting.
It good to hear there was no eating of internal organs… or.. is it 😉
The warning is still amazing! The temptation of writing something so strange to get an epic warning is nearly irresistible now!

Oh, go ahead. Give in to the dark side. You know you want to…
I wrote Starkissed about 12 years ago. The book and the warning are quite tame compared to what’s out there today.

The first edition of “StarKist” featured Charlie the Tuna on the cover, sales were slow.

When can we expect the sequel, “Starhugged”?
December 9th, 2014 at 8:42 pm
Or the conclusion to the inevitable trilogy, “Star-Third-Based”?

Starkers, more like.

Iguana tap it. Perfect.
‘And come on, 50% in and no sex scene??? Not even an “I couldn’t help myself, I had to touch him while he was sleeping, but he wasn’t really sleeping” scene?’

Addendum: Joy Division is definitely the WRONG music to be playing while taking in this cover.

Starkissed. Isn’t that a brand of tuna?
Sorry Charlie, the alien isn’t looking for a woman with good taste …

@Bibliomancer—I thought “Star Kissed” was the new tell-all book about Donald Trump’s reign as a beauty pageant owner. Maybe that’s “Star Groped.”

Skinless man is trying to find the ring in her back that you pull to make her talk.
October 21st, 2016 at 6:58 pm
“Hey, that’s not my ring.”
“That’s ok, that’s not my hand.”
