When customers first reported issues, they were told EFTPOS and ATM services appeared to be unaffected. However, some customers complained EFTPOS services were also down.

It is unclear exactly how many customers are affected by the outage. However, people from a number of states appeared to be having issues.
A ME Bank spokesman confirmed customers were having issues with their MasterCard transactions between 12pm and 2pm on Friday.
"The issue was with an external provider [not MasterCard]," he said.
"While ME customers are now able to transact, we continue to monitor. We're currently working with our technology partners and MasterCard to confirm the cause of the outage."
