Tygert Burton "Ty" Pennington (born Gary Tygert Burton; October 19, 1964) is an American television host, artist, and carpenter. He is most notable for having been the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which aired on ABC in the US until its cancellation in December 2012 and will return with specials and Ty's Great British Adventure, which airs on Home in the UK and TV Land. Previously, Pennington was a carpenter on the TLC reality show Trading Spaces. Currently, he manufactures a line of furniture with the Howard Miller Company. He is also one of the hosts of a Food Network show premiering in May 2015 called American Diner Revival, in which they travel to lend various towns a hand in saving their struggling diners.
Tygert Pennington was born on October 19, 1964 in Atlanta, Georgia, as Gary Tygert Burton, the second son of school psychologist Yvonne Burton. Yvonne separated from Ty's father when he and his older brother Wynn were very young, and spent several years as a single parent before she remarried. Her new husband adopted both boys, giving them the name Pennington. Pennington grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, primarily in his hometown of Marietta. He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 17, and has been an advocate for the treatment of the disorder, particularly for children.
The Revolution is an American health and lifestyle talk show with some reality television components. It aired weekdays at 2:00pm (ET) on the ABC network from January 16 to July 6, 2012. Created by producer J. D. Roth, the series replaced the soap opera One Life to Live.
The series was hosted by Project Runway's Tim Gunn, a consultant on style and fashion topics, fitness trainer Harley Pasternak, designer Ty Pennington, medical consultant Dr. Jennifer Ashton, and therapist/relationship expert Dr. Tiffanie Davis.
The object of The Revolution was to effect positive change in the lives of women. Although the show's most prominent theme was women's weight loss, the show's other recurring themes involved promoting women's well-being, including mental health, style, and home environment. The show featured various segments related to exercise, nutrition, fashion, medicine, and psychology.
Through casting calls, women would send to the producers videos of themselves explaining what about themselves they would like to change, chief among which would be their weight. Customized plans were then created off-screen to help each woman achieve her goals. The women would later appear on the program to present their progress and accomplishments, which was usually featured in the form of a week-long chronological timeline of their progress, and later segments which would check back again on their progress.

Wake up boys, there's a light at the window,
I can hear someone knocking on the door,
There are voices in the street,
And the sound of running feet,
And they whisper the word --
"Revolution!"
There are men coming down from the valleys,
There are tall ships lying off the coast,
And they carry the light,
In the dark of the night,
Like a whisper in the wind --
"Revolution!"
Bring my gun and a handful of silver,
By the sea we will gather for the fight,
It's been so many years,
So many tears,
We have lost once before,
Now we'll settle the score,
When our cannons will roar --
"Revolution!"
Watch and wait, get ready for the sign
There are many here among us now who have not seen the light
We must send the word to all the people in the land
Go to every hill and mountain,
For the time is now at hand
To light a fire!
Light a fire!
Light a fire!
Let us march the road up the rocky hill tonight,
Under cover of the darkness
We will slip behind the lines
And we will take the men who have stolen our land,
For the years of domination
Hit them right between the eyes
And light a fire!
Light a fire,
Light a fire,
