A WA man and his mates have built an Christmas tree out of beer cans.
It's not your typical Christmas tree, that's for sure.
While millions of Aussies get into the Christmas spirit, Western Australian Wesley Boyd is celebrating yuletide his own way -- with a giant tree made out of VB cans.
The Beechboro man told WA Today that he cobbled together the unique Chrissie tree to honour his mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

"I wanted to support [the fight against] Alzheimer's, because I've seen it and it's horrible," he's quoted as saying.
He told the newspaper that the tree, which is 4.4 metres high and two metres high, is made out of a whopping 2536 cans. It's the second time Boyd has reportedly knocked together the giant metal tree, which is built with silcone sealants.
On his Facebook page, Boyd posed with his mates in front of the tree, beers in hand.
Boyd didn't drink all the cans himself, but had a little help from his friends.
"A few of my mates love drinking VBs, so when they bring their own drinks over, we all keep the cans," Boyd told WA Today.
