The hemispheric long wave pattern has been relatively fast moving in recent weeks. There are six main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, the Indian Ocean, eastern Australia, the south Pacific, the southeast Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Summary:
Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 23 November to 27 November, 1 December to 5 December, and 7 December to 11 December. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 27 November to 1 December, 5 December to 9 December, and 22 December to 26 December. Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 23 November to 27 November, 2 December to 6 December, and 16 December to 20 December.
