My 17-day land tour of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia. The tour starts off in Johannesburg. From there I visit the capital in Pretoria. Next up is Soweto and the homes of Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. After a flight to Botswana I spend two days on animal safaris in Chobe National Park. Next it's a short drive to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe where I visit the world famous Victoria Falls, ride an elephant through the bush, take a sunset cruise down the mighty Zambezi River, visit a primitive village and local school. I fly to northern South Africa next where I spend three days on animal safari in Kruger National Park. Next I fly to Cape Town for the final six nights of my trip. I spend the first two nights on a wine estate from where I explore the towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. I spend the last four nights of the trip in downtown Cape Town. From here I ride the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprissoned, take a scenic drive to the Cape of Good Hope where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, enjoy the lively V&A; Waterfront and visit the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
