A ballroom is a large room inside a building, the designated purpose of which is holding large formal parties called balls. Traditionally, most balls were held in private residences; many mansions contain one or more ballrooms. In other large houses, a large room such as the main drawing room, long gallery, or hall may double as a ballroom, but a good ballroom should have the right type of flooring, such as hardwood flooring or stone flooring (usually marble).
Ballrooms are generally quite large, and may have ceilings higher than other rooms in the same building. The large amount of space for dancing, as well as the highly formal tone of events have given rise to ballroom dancing. The largest balls are now nearly always held in public buildings, and many hotels have a ballroom. They are also designed large to help the sound of orchestras carry well throughout the whole room.
A special case is the annual Vienna Opera Ball, where, just for one night, the auditorium of the Vienna State Opera is turned into a large ballroom. On the eve of the event, the rows of seats are removed from the stalls, and a new floor, level with the stage, is built.
"You Can" is a 1981 single by Madleen Kane and produced by Giorgio Moroder. The song was written by Yolanda Yvette Adams, Donald Ray Atkins and Marcus Ecby. Along with the track, "Fire in My Heart", "You Can" was Kane's most successful single on the dance charts, spending three weeks at number one. The single was her only Hot 100 chart entry, peaking at #77.
You Can Dance is the first remix album by American singer-songwriter Madonna. It was released on November 17, 1987, by Sire Records. The album contains remixes of tracks from her first three studio albums—Madonna (1983), Like a Virgin (1984) and True Blue (1986)— and a new track, "Spotlight". In the 1980s, remixing was still a new concept and technology, by which a particular vocal phrase could be endlessly copied, repeated, chopped up, transposed up and down in pitch and give them more echo, reverberation, treble or bass. Madonna became interested in the concept, noting that she hated when others remixed her songs and wanted to do it by herself.
Madonna turned to her old friend and producer John "Jellybean" Benitez to help her remix the songs, and also enlisted the help of Patrick Leonard, the producer of True Blue. The mixes on You Can Dance exhibited a number of typical mixing techniques. Instrumental passages were lengthened to increase the time for dancing, which undermined the tighter structure of the original pop song. Vocal phrases were repeated and subjected to multiple echoes, panned across the stereophonic sound outlets. At certain points, almost no music is heard except the drums and at other times, the drums are removed with only the hi-hat left to keep time. The album cover denoted Madonna's continuous fascination with Hispanic culture.
So You Think (foaled 10 November 2006) is a New Zealand-bred Thoroughbred racehorse, now majority owned by Coolmore Stud of Ireland. So You Think came to prominence through winning the 2009 and 2010 Cox Plates, Australia's premier weight for age race. His second Cox Plate win came at just his tenth career start. He started as favourite for the 2010 Melbourne Cup but finished third, in his first race past 2,040 metres.
He was bred by M J Moran & Piper Farm Ltd and foaled at the Windsor Park Stud in Cambridge, New Zealand. So You Think was purchased for $NZ110,000 at the 2008 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale on behalf of Malaysian billionaire Dato Tan Chin Nam and Tunku Ahmad Yahaya and was trained by Bart Cummings.
He was sired by the Irish-bred Epsom Derby winner High Chaparral out of Triassic, a New Zealand-bred daughter of the American stallion Tights. Although officially a bay, So You Think is a dark brown horse, sometimes appearing almost black.
Southern Hemisphere horses have their official birthday on 1 August, while in the Northern Hemisphere, the date is 1 January. This leads to some confusion concerning So You Think's age. Between 1 January and 1 August 2011, he was a four-year-old by Australian reckoning, but was regarded as a five-year-old in Europe. A similar discrepancy occurred in 2012.

(Are you ready, Steve? )
(Uh huh)
(Andy? )
(Yeah)
(Mick? )
(Okay)
(Alright fellas - let's go! )
It's been getting so hard living with the things you do to me
My dreams are getting so strange - I could tell you everything I see
I see a man in the back - as a matter of fact his eyes are as red as the sun
And the girl in the corner - let no one ignore her - she thinks she's the passionate one
(Oh yeah)
It was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
(yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack!" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy, I want to warn you it'll turn into a ballroom blitz"
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
Reaching out for something - touching nothing's all I ever do
I softly call you over - when you appear there's nothing left of you
And the man in the back is ready to crack as he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is everyone's mourner - she could kill you with a wink of her eye
(Oh yeah)
It was electric
So frantically hectic
And the band started leaving
'cause they all stopped breathing
(yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack!" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy, I want to warn you it'll turn into a ballroom blitz"
Ballroom Blitz
(Oh yeah)
It was like lightning
Everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing
And they all started grooving
(yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah)
And the man in the back said, "Everyone attack!" and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, "Boy, I want to warn you it'll turn into a ballroom blitz"
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
Ballroom Blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
It's, it's a ballroom blitz
