Volga Region (Russian: Поволжье, Povolzhye) is a historical region in Russia that encompasses territories adjacent to the flow of the Volga River. Based on that, it is usually classified into the Upper Volga Region, Middle Volga Region (Central Volga Region) and Lower Volga Region.
Another notable distinction is the elevated right bank side featuring the Volga Upland and the left bank side or Trans-Volga Region, Transvolga (Russian: Заволжье, Zavolzhye), which consists of the elevated High Transvolga and the lowland Low Transvolga.
Idel-Ural region is also defined within Povolzhye.
In the modern Russian Federation, the Volga Region is associated with the Volga Federal District and Volga economic region (rather different entities).

Field Days is the performing and recording name of Patrick Damphier (born December 20, 1981), an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Damphier has also toured as a member of The Mynabirds, Angel Olsen, Lionlimb, and Stone Jack Jones. He has worked as producer for such acts as The Mynabirds, Tim Easton, Paper Rival, Photo Ops, and Night Beds. Damphier is known to often provide substantial contributions as a multi-instrumentalist to the albums he produces.
The first Field Days recording to be released was Projector, in 2010. Damphier recorded the album in a friend's basement in Nashville, Tennessee, on a 4-track, reel to reel machine that he obtained from an ex-Loretta Lynn staff songwriter.Projector received critical acclaim not only for its music, but also for its handmade packaging and artwork. The websites REDEFINE Magazine and Design*Sponge both posted features that were dedicated entirely to the album's packaging.
The Volga (Russian: Во́лга; IPA: [ˈvolɡə]) is the longest river in Europe; it is also Europe's largest river in terms of discharge and watershed. It flows through central Russia and into the Caspian Sea, and is widely viewed as the national river of Russia.
Eleven of the twenty largest cities of Russia, including the capital, Moscow, are in the Volga's watershed (drainage basin).
Some of the largest reservoirs in the world can be found along the Volga. The river has a symbolic meaning in Russian culture and is often referred to as Волга-матушка Volga-Matushka (Mother Volga) in Russian literature and folklore.
The Russian hydronym Volga (Волга) derives from Proto-Slavic *vòlga "wetness, moisture", which is preserved in many Slavic languages, including Ukrainian volóha (воло́га) "moisture", Russian vlaga (влага) "moisture", Bulgarian vlaga (влага) "moisture", Czech vláha "dampness", Serbo-Croatian vlȁga "moisture", and Slovene vlaga "moisture" among others.
The Slavic name is a loan translation of earlier Scythian Rā (Ῥᾶ) "Volga", literally "wetness", cognate with Avestan Raŋhā "mythical stream" (also compare the derivation Sogdian r’k "vein, blood vessel" (*raha-ka),Persian رگ rag "vein") and Sanskrit rasā́- "liquid, juice; mythical river". The Scythian name survives in modern Mordvin Rav (Рав) "Volga".

_________________________________________________________ Ges Fest 2015 took a place recently. This is annual event of electro music in the Volga region. More than any other European country Russia struggles with the challenge of Radical Islam.NUPI is very happy to host two of Russia’s most prominent scholars on these issues: Irina Starodubrovskaya, Head of Center for Political Economy and Regional Development, and Alexej Malashenko, Chair of the Carnegie Moscow Center’s Religion, Society, and Security Program. Since the Chechen wars and the radicalization of the separatist movement Radical Islam has become a key mode of resistance to Russian rule in the North Caucasus, in particular in the Muslim republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia and Kabardino Balkaria. In recent years Radical Islam has also spread to the Russian Volga region. A pattern of conflict between clandestine radical milieus and government security agencies can be observed in re...

The Bulgars (also Bulghars, Bulgari, Bolgars, Bolghars, Bolgari; Proto-Bulgarians) were semi-nomadic warrior tribes of Turkic extraction who flourished in the Pontic-Caspian steppe and the Volga region during the 7th century. Emerging as nomadic equestrians in the Volga-Ural region, according to some researchers their roots can be traced to Central Asia. During their westward migration across the Eurasian steppe the Bulgars absorbed other ethnic groups and cultural influences, including Hunnic, Iranian and Indo-European. Modern genetic research on Central Asian Turkic people and ethnic groups related to the Bulgars points to an affiliation with western Eurasian and European populations. The Bulgars spoke a Turkic language, i.e. Bulgar language of Oghuric branch. They preserved military tit...
