I've lost 140 pounds and my wife has lost nearly 70 pounds in less than a year. I'm 50, she's over 40. Neither of us had surgery or used any drugs to do it. I used common sense and a few modern-day tricks (iPhone app, wireless headphones, mutant tortillas, and more). We followed the same overall principle, but our actual execution methods were very different (there is no ONE best way for everyone). Also, why you don't need a personal trainer or a fad diet or live like a hermit to lose a lot of weight.
My friends and my wife's friends keep asking us how we did this, so the Ignite audience might be curious, too.

This is my iPhone recorded video (complete with terrible audio quality) of Ryan Bruce (aka Fluff) from the very cool Riffs, Beards & Gear channel. This was one of several tracks played on the Saturday. I captured this one and watched the rest. I didn't want to miss it for myself.
The audio doesn't do this performance justice. The tone was amazing and surprisingly clear. I bought myself some Cleartone at Guitar Center the next day :)

Yo!! What's up, dudes?!?! This is my bud Ryan Bruce, aka Fluff, playing live at the KSR Amplification booth. As you can imagine, it was hard to get decent audio using a camera-mounted mic, but I thought it came out better than expected. I was SO noisy in the area, but that's true for pretty much all of NAMM. It's like one giant music store, and everyone is trying out everything at once. More vids soon!

I've lost 140 pounds and my wife has lost nearly 70 pounds in less than a year. I'm 50, she's over 40. Neither of us had surgery or used any drugs to do it. I used common sense and a few modern-day tricks (iPhone app, wireless headphones, mutant tortillas, and more). We followed the same overall principle, but our actual execution methods were very different (there is no ONE best way for everyone). Also, why you don't need a personal trainer or a fad diet or live like a hermit to lose a lot of weight.
My friends and my wife's friends keep asking us how we did this, so the Ignite audience might be curious, too.

The audio doesn't do this performance justice. The tone was amazing and surprisingly clear. I bought myself some Cleartone at Guitar Center the next day :)

This is my cover of Ryan "Fluuf" Bruce's song "Failure". It is the intro song to many of his videos. The drums were done using Superior Drummer 2, with the Rock Solid expansion. I wrote the midi drums myself. They aren't perfect, but I'm happy with it. Recorded using my B.C. Rich Bich, directly into my Line 6 Helix, using a Dual Rectifier patch that I created, and I used the built in USB interface into Logic Pro X to record. Video shot on a Nikon D5100 and edited in iMovie. Enjoy! -
