A 56-year-old Perth woman has pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering her mother and interfering with her corpse.

Helen Levina was charged after the body of 76-year-old Ella Victoria Hromaya was found in March, partially buried in the backyard of the South Guildford home they shared.

Ms Levina entered the not guilty pleas when she appeared in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court in Perth this morning via video link from Bandyup prison.

She was committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court and was remanded in custody until her next appearance in February.
